UMovers was established in 2017 by University of Virginia wrestlers with the mission of delivering high-quality, affordable moving services to fellow students and the local community. UMover’s founding members brought the same level of effort and dedication to serving their communities' moving needs as they did to the classroom and the mat, which allowed UMovers to thrive, becoming a recognized member of the Charlottesville community.
Since its founding, UMovers has grown significantly, meeting student, residential, and commercial moving needs in Charlottesville for years, and now bringing our top-of-the-line service to other areas of Virginia, including Blacksburg! Most recently, this growth was recognized with the 2024 Virginia Mover of the Year award from localmovers.com. Despite the company's expansion and evolution, the goals and principles of UMovers remain the same: to provide a high-quality, stress-free, and affordable moving service through professionalism, attention to detail, and a customer experience built to serve our community's best. It’s this customer- and community-first mindset that enables UMovers to make the moving process less stressful for those we serve.
This mentality is also what drives us to support our community in other ways by giving back to our communities. One way UMovers does this consistently is by donating a portion of its profits to UVA Health Children’s Hospital in support of their remarkable mission to combat pediatric cancer through world-class treatment, care, and innovation.
